What Surrounds Me

Hello to all my friends,  The weather for the past few days has been so beautiful, heavenly blue skies, just a whisper of wind.     Just wanted to show what surrounds me;  to the left of my chair,  this is where we decided to hang our fireplace  mantle.   Here is a photo to show you.    We think it looks nice. Our living room is in the shape of an L.   It's been very difficult at best to know what to do with this wall.   We have placed a couch or a chair there but it faces directly at the front door.   Since we use the door as our main entrance it wouldn't be good to have a couch facing along there.    Anyway, the table is a drop leaf, 1960.  It belonged to my parents.   The floor in the corner doesn't showcase anything except odds and ends, but I plan on placing a floor vase.     The framed painting used to hang over an old console stereo in my parents home.  I have always loved it.     Well that wraps up what I wanted to post.     I am hungry and need to find a recipe for chicken.   I don't like to wait so late to cook but alas I did.   Have a blessed day or evening.   I will pop in again.

Mary

  2. A lovely, peaceful corner there Mary :)
I am sitting my my big chair, with my cat on the rocker on my right, oddments that I am using as I create some devotions/studies for a women's retreat on another armchair to my left...on either side of me I have wee tables holding way more than they really should... yes I live on my own in a wee apartment at the end of my DD and family's home, specially designed and build for me.
Directly ahead I have a tiny kitchenette - big enough for my breakfast and lunch, but I have the evening meal with the family, and my bedroom door :) My craft desk is sitting partially hidden, in a corner, behind the other armchair.
Compact and comfortable and I am very happy here :)
    Blessings
